Waste management
In Tervola, the municipal waste management authority tasks are handled by the regional Perämeren jätelautakunta, and the obligations are the responsibility of Perämeren Jätehuolto Oy. The website of Perämeren Jätehuolto Oy includes, among other things, the waste management regulations. Residents have access to the services of the Riukkajänkä’s Jäkälä waste treatment facility, as well as to the recycling and hazardous waste station at the municipality’s central depot.
The municipality-organized Paakontie wood waste collection point is closed, and garden or other waste can no longer be brought there. Residents can take garden waste to the Tervola eco-station free of charge during station opening hours.
