    On the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare’s parenting site, you can find information and support for everyday life with children, as well as information about the development of children at different ages. The site also offers a free parenting phone line and parenting chat, where you can talk or write about anything related to parenting.

    Ask for Help! (service in Finnish)
    A low-threshold contact channel for families with children and young people. You can ask for advice or request support for your own or a loved one’s situation via an online form. Family centre professionals will respond within 1–2 working days. Not for urgent matters or emergencies.

    Pedagogical and family counseling

    Families with children can receive services from a pedagogical and family counseling center to promote the well-being, growth, and development of children and adolescents, as well as to support parenting. The staff of the pedagogical and family counseling center also help families when managing everyday life and maintaining sufficient personal resources is causing concern. The service is confidential.     Family planning and contraception clinic

    Young people and adults can receive sexual health and contraception advice. Contraception clinics provide expert guidance on preventing pregnancy, available contraceptive methods, and sexually transmitted infections. You can also ask about matters related to abortion.     On the website of Lapin Ensi- ja Turvakoti ry, you can find services and help, for example, during pregnancy and parenthood, maintaining a substance-free lifestyle during pregnancy and the baby period, and recovering from violence.     Social work for families

    Social work for families with children is preventive work that supports the smooth running of everyday family life. You can contact your local social services if you need support, for example, with practical arrangements in daily life, coping with everyday tasks, challenges in raising children, financial difficulties, or substance use.   • Mental health services

    Human life situations and experiences change, which affects an individual’s mental resources. Good mental health is the foundation of an individual’s well-being. It strengthens the ability to function in changing situations and helps to tolerate occasional anxiety and to cope with the difficult aspects of life that are inevitable.

    Temporary mental strain and psychological distress are normal at different stages of life, when a person’s mood, emotions, thoughts, or behavior interfere with their ability to function or with relationships, or cause suffering. It is important to talk about how you are feeling with someone close, such as a partner, friend, or nurse, and to seek support and help for the situation.

    Tarmoa helps to guide you to different services, activities and activities that can help you maintain and promote your wellbeing and health.     A confidential support service for boys and young men, offering a safe space to talk about everyday life, relationships, wellbeing and difficult situations. Support is available via phone and online chat.

    A nationwide support service for young people under 30, offering confidential help and someone to talk to about mental wellbeing, life situations and worries via online chat. The service is available in Finnish only.

    On the Päihdelinkki (AddictionLink) online service, you can find information and support about substances and addictions. In addition to a comprehensive information database, the site offers tests, self-help content, peer support, and advisory services. The Päihdelinkki (AddictionLink) online service is intended for substance users, gamblers, their loved ones, and anyone interested in addiction information, as well as professionals and students.

    Substance abuse or gambling problems affect many people’s lives in one way or another, even if you do not have these problems yourself. Preventive substance abuse work by EHYT promotes the prevention of harms related to alcohol, tobacco, and drugs, as well as harms resulting from gambling.
