Zoning
Zoning is land use planning that creates the conditions for the placement of various functions of society. Zoning includes the preparation of plans of different levels and related studies, the preparation of zoning matters for elected officials, managing interaction between stakeholders at different stages of zoning, providing information about zoning, and offering advice on zoning matters.
The annual zoning review describes not only the plans currently in force in the municipality but also the zoning matters that are pending or will be initiated in the near future.
In the municipality of Tervola, there is a valid local detailed plan in the central area. A partial master plan for the Kemijoki riverside area was drawn up in the early 2000s, and its revision was initiated in 2012 with the review of the Paakkola-Ylipaakkola subarea.
