Advisory bodies

This page provides information on the advisory bodies of the municipality of Tervola, which include the Youth council (nuorisovaltuusto), the Council for older persons and persons with disabilities (vanhus- ja vammaisneuvosto), and the Tervola council (Tervola neuvosto).

The municipal board decides on the establishment and operating conditions of advisory bodies.

  • Youth council

    The purpose of the Youth council (NUVA) is to promote young people’s opportunities for participation, influence, and activities in Tervola. The activities encourage and guide young people to influence social matters.

    Youth council members are young people aged 13-18 nominated from their village committees. You can also send ideas, thoughts, and wishes for the youth council to nuorisovaltuusto[at]tervola.fi.

  • Council for older persons and persons with disabilities

    Council for older persons and persons with disabilities (VVNE) is an impartial collaborative body for municipal pensioners’, elderly, and disabled organizations, as well as other parties working with elderly and disabled people.

    Meeting schedule of the Council for older persons and persons with disabilities:

  • Tervola council

    The Tervola council is a cooperation forum for the stakeholders of the municipality of Tervola. The council’s duties include, among other things, making initiatives and proposals to the municipal authorities and participating in the preparation of the municipal strategy.

    The council’s term of office is two years, the same as that of the municipal board.

    The council has 9-15 representatives. The municipal board appoints the council representatives, who are requested from rural, entrepreneurial, and other relevant organizations as well as the parish. The municipal board can also supplement the council with other willing participants.
