Employment coach - individual support

The employment coach provides individual support to unemployed residents in their path towards employment or education.

The employment coach is responsible for the client process of participants in work trials, wage-subsidised employment and apprenticeship training. The employment coach supports clients as needed, for example in job seeking, searching for employment opportunities, preparing for job interviews, and considering and applying for basic, further or continuing education options. The employment coach works in close cooperation with other employment service providers and local companies.

In Tervola, a Youth workshop operates, offering work trial placements, wage-subsidised employment and rehabilitative work activities primarily for young people aged 17–28, but also for older participants. The workshop also serves as a placement for community service and monitoring sanctions, a workplace familiarisation site, and a training placement for students. The employment coach supports participants in various everyday life challenges. Their responsibilities include assessing participants’ life situations and service needs.

The employment coach works in a multi-professional network in close cooperation with the workshop coach, social services, employment authorities and other public authorities.
