Principles of paying baby bonus

Baby bonus is paid to every child born in Tervola during the year 2023, and to any child born thereafter. In the year of the child’s birth, 2000€ is paid, and in each of the following four years, 1000€/year is paid. In total, 6000€ of baby bonus is paid.

• The child’s guardian is registered in Tervola at the time of the child’s birth

• A child born in Tervola is entitled to baby bonus

• In the case of adoption, baby bonus is granted only to families who adopt a child under 1 year old.

• Baby bonus is paid only to one parent of the family

• Baby bonus is taxable support according to the tax authority’s guidelines

• The tax card must be submitted as an attachment to the application

• After the payment of the first installment, there is no need to submit a tax card, as payroll will receive the information directly from the tax authority. If you want to use a revised tax card or a benefit tax card, it must be submitted to payroll by the end of February, either on paper or via email to: palkat@tervola.fi

• The first installment (€2000) of the baby bonua can be paid as soon as the child’s name and information have been registered with the Digital and Population Data Services Agency.

• The following installments (€1000/year) will be paid in a lump sum and automatically in April, without a separate application

• During the annual payment, the child’s and guardian’s municipality is checked

• The requirement for paying the annual fee is that the guardian’s and the child’s municipality of residence is Tervola on the last day of the previous year and at the time of payment.

The decision regarding the baby bonus is made by the administrative director as an official decision. The decision will be sent to the applicant for information.

The applicant undertakes to immediately report any changes that may affect the payment of the baby bonus. The applicant agrees to the verification of information with the relevant authorities. Baby bonuse paid on incorrect grounds will be recovered.
