Located in Southern Lapland, Tervola is known for its caring attitude, optimism and open-minded way of doing things. At the heart of our brand is ämpäripäisyys — a local word for a mindset that combines courage, creativity and a twinkle in the eye.

This mindset shapes how we build our community, develop services and welcome newcomers. Tervola values people, cooperation and solutions that are a little different — and often a little better.

Surrounded by beautiful rural landscapes and the Kemijoki River, Tervola offers space to live peacefully, while staying well connected to nearby cities. Here, quality of life grows from strong community spirit, trust and the freedom to do things our own way.

Ämpäripäisyys is a mindset anyone can share.
That’s why Tervola is a place for all of us.

    Visual identity

Tervola’s visual identity is inspired by the local attitude to life and nature. The Tervola way of life and the area’s stunning nature are reflected in the typography, graphic elements, and color palette. The municipality’s new visual identity will be gradually visible across its channels. The new identity is already noticeable on the municipality’s social media channels and, with the planned website renewal, the new visual identity will also be implemented on the municipality’s website.

The visual identity of Tervola (including the logo) can be used by the municipality’s partners. Contact the communications planner for more information! The visual identity must be used in accordance with good practice and may not be used for ideological, political, or religious purposes. The logo must not be modified, and care must be taken to ensure sufficient contrast between the logo and the background.

The graphic elements of Tervola are pieces derived from the emblems of Tervola and Vastaranta. The graphics encourage using the Tervola attitude, where small things are turned into much and done differently. Residents and businesses are warmly welcome to come up with their own applications for the pieces! Unity can also be achieved by using Tervola’s color palette.
