Physical activity
A wellness instructor plans and organizes various exercise events, clubs, and courses for residents of all ages. The events can range from individual sport trials and workshops to larger wellness events.
In addition to exercise services, the wellness instructor is responsible for exercise counseling and the municipality’s wellness reporting work, as well as representing Tervola in regional networks for the development of sports and wellness.
Free exercise classes in the spring season 2026:
Tue 17:30-18:30 Kettlebell, Municipal Hall gym, instructor: Jukka Liukkonen. The group is intended for adults with basic fitness. Participants do not need to have prior experience with kettlebell training. It’s recommended to bring your own kettlebell to the workouts, in addition to exercise clothes. Limited number of kettlebells for borrow available. No pre-registration required.
Wed 17:15-18:15 Strength & Body Care – group exercise class, Lapinniemi School gym, instructor: Hanna-Kaisa Karhu. The class is primarily intended for working-age adults, but the group is suitable for all generally healthy exercisers regardless of age. You will need to bring your own mat to the classes. Occasionally, we use kettlebells, there are limited number of kettlebells for borrow. Advance registration / inquiries about available spots directly with the instructor (+358 40 1519 739).
