Outreach youth work

The work is based on the young person’s own voluntariness and is client-centered, meaning that matters are handled based on the young person’s own needs and wishes. The young person’s situation is assessed, and listening to their wishes, they are guided to the services they need. A youth outreach worker can be spoken to confidentially about one’s matters.

The outreach youth worker can be contacted:

• the young oneself
• parents
• school staff
• various authorities (e.g., social services, employment services)
• people belonging to the young person’s close circle (e.g., godparents, cousins, friends)

You are welcome to get in touch even if the concern or worry is small. You can contact us by phone, email, or by catching one of the outreach workers when you see them.

The office of the outreach youth worker is located in the town hall, but meetings can be arranged, for example, at the youth center. The outreach youth work uses the PAR system, which records all young people who have been referred to outreach youth work.
