E-books and digital services

Through the national E-Library and Pohjoisen eKirjasto, Libraries of Lapland provide access to e-books, e-audiobooks, e-magazines and other digital services.

The national E-library

Since 1 January 2025, Tervola library customers have had access to the national E-Library service.

Pohjoisen eKirjasto

Pohjoisen eKirjasto (Northern e-library) provides access to foreign-language e-books and e-audiobooks (OverDrive), newspapers (ePress), magazines in multiple languages (PressReader), films (Cineast), music and singing courses (Rockway), classical music (Naxos), and documentaries and concert recordings from the world of classical music (Medici.tv).

You can access Pohjoisen eKirjasto services in your web browser using your library card and PIN. Some services are also available through free mobile apps.

All services are free of charge for library customers. To use them, you need a valid library card, a PIN and an internet-connected device. Library cards from the Sotkamo, Lapland, Joki, Kainet and OUTI library networks are accepted. Services can be accessed through your local library’s online library.

Most services can be used remotely from anywhere. The only exception is ePress, which is available only on library premises.
